Company History

Our company first opened its doors in Reading in 1952 as a water softener dealer for The Lindsay Company. Mr. Lindsay invented the first semi-automatic water softener in the 1920s. His passion for inventing kept The Lindsay Company at the forefront of innovation. The Lindsay water softeners were known for their high-salt efficiency and innovative technology. The Lindsay Company was acquired by The Marmon Group and became EcoWater Systems, the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of residential water softeners.

In 1972 Donald Saltman, entrepreneur and founder of Suburban Water Technology and Suburban Water Testing Labs, acquired the Lindsay dealership and opened an office in Muhlenburg Township under the name Suburban Water Technology II. After many successful years in the water industry, Mr. Saltman retired in 1990 and his son-in-law, Mr. Jaime Kirlin purchased the business and incorporated as Advanced Water Resources. During that time, The Marmon Group acquired Miracle Water and Servi-soft and combined all three companies into EcoWater Systems. Today, EcoWater Systems continues the legacy of manufacturing the most efficient water softeners along with other innovative products. The Kirlins and AWR continues the legacy of Donald Saltman.
